Triors, editor of the Christchurch Press, is visiting New Plymouth, ami proposes spending a few days at the Mountain House. On Saturday, it was found necessary to amputate the left, arm of Dr. Harrison, of Eltliaiu. His condition on Saturday evening was very serious. Mr. H. IT. Olsen. of Egmont Village, leaves by the mail train this morning for Maslerton, where he is to judge the Ayrshire tattle at the A. and P. Show. Dr. Margaret B. Cruickshank. for the past sixteen years the partner of Dr. Barclay, hospital superintendent at Waimate. on the occasion of her departure on a twelve months' visit <o England, was on Thursday evening the recipient from the community of a purse of sovereigns and a handsome gold watch and chain. There wa> a very large gathering at the ceremony.
