MARTON SHOW.

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. Per Press Association. Marton, Last Night. . The Marton District A. and P. Association initial show was held to-day in '■ boisterous weather on the racecourse. '■ The attendance was very good and the financial results far exceed all expecta- '" tions. One and all voted the show a big ' r success, with every prospect of its inrs creasing. It was officially opened by the a Prime Minister,who heartily congratulated the Association and the settlers »n their successful efforts. Marton lends itself admirably to a good agricultural show, being the centre of one of the finest districts he had ever toured. He was exceedingly pleased with such a vast stretch of fine country. G. Simpson the Shorthorns. The most prominent hi sheep T.iwohis. Messrs. S. Coombes. G. L. Marshall and J. W. Bowen; romnevs. Mr. D. 11. Kil ffour (who took all the firsts) : border Leicester*. Mr. J. Douthwaite: Shrop shires. Mr. G. L. Marshall: Corridales is Mr. A. F. Fullerton Smith: fat hvuhs (e.va port classes). .Mr. T. L. Anderson (farm ,f ers' classes). Messrs. Howard and Ingle lis and J. Wilson. There wa- a (rood , e exhibition of home industries and diiirv e produce. Jumping was a feature of jh>. show. The entries were largo and the competition keen.
