Herr von Bethmann Hollweg, the German Chancellor, speaking at an agricultural banquet, said that Germany would be compelled this year to strengthen her land armament. The effort demands sacrifices. God had appointed the Germans their place on the globe, and so arranged its history that great sacrifices Were their heavy lot.
