OPENING DAY. Per Press Association. Daivnevh'ke, Wednesday. Tlie district A. and P. Association Autumn Show opened to-day on the new ground at Mangatera. which is 26 acres in extent, and is finely appointed, with a new stand capable of seating 800 people. The weather was fine but windy, and the attendance good. The entries constituted a record, and the show was strong in cattle, sheep and horses. Tiie championship awards were as follows: Lincolns, D. Mackenzie, ram and ewe; .Border Leicesters, J. A. Welsh, ram and ewe; English Leicesters, Slack Bros., ram •, Southdowns, Ellis Bros., ram and ewe; Herefords, H. B. Stuckey, bull and cow; Polled Angus, F. Armstrong, ce»w and bull; Jerseys, E. A. Ransom, cow, Paul Hunter bull; Holsteins, M. O'Connor cow, Jas. Hart bull.
