THE WELLINGTON BLAZE. j Per Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. Excellent work was done by the Fire Brigade lust evening in confining a dangerous blaze in a very old, inflammable building at the corner of Grey and Featherston streets to the premises where the five originated. Despite the fact that the fire had got a good hold when the brigade arrived and a heavy wind was blowing, the outbreak was subdued in twenty minutes. The building was owned by Mr. C. B. Morison, K.C., and insured for £IOO in the London and Liverpool and Globe Office. The fire started in the office of C. Bryant, film agent, and his stock was practically all destroyed. It was insured for £3OO in the British Dominion Office. A FACTORY BURNED. Hastings, Wednesday. The Sash and Door Factory, owned by the Hastings Brick, Tile and Timber Company, Ltd., was completely destroyed by fire this afternoon. The heavy stock of timber in the yard adjoining was saved by the splendid high pressure water supply. The insurance on the factory and plant was £7.18. The loss is estimated at £2OOO.
