There was some mixing at the jumps turning out of the straight, but Rercola was still leading Aviatrix, with the favorite running third. Turning for home Ngatiruanui moved up and was on terms with Rercola at the last fence, but had to be ridden out to win by a length and a-half. with Timothy three lengths away third. Time. 2min 47sec. Making a merry pace, Grattan was first into the straight and looked all over a winner, but Zetes came with a well-timed run from the distance, and, catching the leader, just got up in time to score by a neck, with Worcester three lengths away third, just in front of Passadena. The same order was maintained running out of the straight. Mendip, Lady Meusehikolf and Con the Shaughraun being next in order. At the four furlongs Patriotic was a length clear of Byron and Dearest, who were running together, with Lady Mcuschikofi' and Con the Shaughraun close up. Turning for home, Lady Menscbikoir ran through with Con the Shaughraun and in a great finish home Con The Shaughraun just, got up in time to beat the mare by a neck, with Dearest a length and a-half away third, a neck in front of Byron.
