Following the resumption of rioting in the coal mines district a regiment of militia camped on the scene of the outbreak. The strikers sought to fire on the town, and an engagement occurred, when the militia succeeded in heading the strikers off. RAILWAYMEX'S WAGES. Received 13. 12.50 a.m. London. February 12. The Laborites failed to secure an amendment fixing the minimum wage at 30s weekly for adult railwayman. THE'LABOR CONFERENCE. Sydney, February 12. The Labor Conference has added a new plank to its platform, viz., that venereal diseases should be made eompnlsorilr notifiable.
