The following weather summary and - forecast was issued by the Dominion : Meteorologist at 5 p.m.: ~ Summary: The barometer is now lowest about Kai- ) koura, and is rising slowly at the Bluff. f Ijfoderate to strong westerly winds (lave prevailed in the north and south, •ad winds, strong to a gale, now predominate in the south. Rain has fallen hi many parts of the South Island, and b elondy weather has prevailed in the 5 north. Forecast: Present indications I are for strong southerly winds predomit; Bating everywhere soon: unsettled, ' showery and colder weather is probable • !' everywhere, and a rising barometer.
