FIRES.
A BLAZE AT BLENHEIM. (Per Press Association). Blenheim, Tuesday. Sjcott and Co.'s bakery and confectionery factory in Arthur street was totally destroyed by fire last night. An explosion occurred in a portion of the building just as the hands left work. It was an old building, and the fire spread rapidly. There was no hope of saving anything but the motor van and a few bags of flour. The insurances total £llOO. A BLAZE IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, Last Night. A fire broke out to-night in an old wooden building occupied as offices opposite the new Post Office. The upper storey was badly burned out, but the actual extent of the damage or of the insurances is not ascertainable.
