Hemp.—Dull; spot £34 10s. Rubber, 4s 3d. Kauri gum.—Stock 147 tons. Wheat. —Firm. There is great activity in cargoes, which is princpally due to the drought and unfavourable crop outlook in India. Seven cargoes of Australian were sold ranging from 38s to 38s (id, A parcel of 14,500 quarters February brought 37s lO'/od, also two cargoes of 17,500 quarters February sold at 37s Od. A steamer January shipment brought 38s 7y»d. Wheat and flour alloat 2,900,000 quarters. For the Continent 2,400,000 quarters, Atlantic shipments 348,000 quarters, Pacilic 30,000 quarters. The total for Europe is 1,000,000 quarters from Australasia 185,000 quarters. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.

The average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese is 00s Od. Hemp.—The market is quieter. Speculators only are in the market. Wool.—The market remains firm. Hops.—The market prospects are favourable, with much hotter demand.
