ROYAL DESCENDANTS
While the Duke ami Duchess of Connaught were visiting Victoria, 8.C., lust November, they accorded a private interview to two residents of that cityMisses T-Tonora and Helena O'Connor, of St. James street, Jiunes Bay, who trace their descent from the Royal House of Ireland, founded liy Queen Scotia, granddaughter of one of the Pharaohs of Egypt, other illustrious forbears having been Roderick the Great, Fergus (King of the Irish Snots) and Meav (Queen of Connaughth The two ladies were naturally anxious to see the Duke, who is nominal successor to the. Queen of Connaught. Tile interview was arranged by the Premier of British Columbia (Sir Richard Meßride). As soon as the Duke was apprised of the peculiar circumstances connected with the visit, he sent his own carriage to convey 'the ladies to Government House. ' They were very graciously received by the Duke and the Duchess, who stated' their pleasure at meeting them, and listened with much interest as they traced their descent from the Royal House of Ireland When they told the Duchess that they had preserved it as pure to this day aa | it had been in the past, she said: "it is good."
