At Stratford on Saturday, February 1. for my monthly horse fair I had' a catalogue of 110 horses. The attendance was good, and there was a fair enquiry for good harness horses, but poor sorts and weedy backs were hard to quit. Stewart respectively attracted keen competition and sold well, as did also a fine pen of - shorn lambs from Mr. Fred Bayly, the latter topping the market at Os.Sd. I quote prices as follows:—2-tooth ewes 15s, 4-tooth to f.f.m. ewes lis 4d, f.m. ewes 5s 2d to 10s 4d, 2-tooth wethers 13s 7d to 14s 2d. 4-tooth forward wethers (gooil) Ids Id, shorn lambs (good) lis Id to !)s Sd, ordinary sorts fis 4d to 7s Gd, cull lambs 5s to os 6d.
