- : KILLED BY A BOLTING HORSEPer Pres9 Association. Auckland, Last Niglit. A settler of Leigh, named Handley. was killed to-day. Deceased was driving: a vehicle, and at a narrow point of the road, with a drop of seventy feet into the, creek, met a runaway dray of another settler, bolting. The horse dashed into Handley's trap and sent him over the edge, his body crashing down the bank to the creek below. When taken out it was seen that his ease was (\tsa peratc, and after lingering for abont an hour and a half in an unconscious state the unfortunate man breathed his last. Deceased was sixty years of age, with a grown-up family, and was highly respected in the district. A WOMAN'S DEATH. Wellington. Last Night. Jessie Holt, the woman found in a critical condition (suffering from septic poisoning) under unusual circumstances in Lome street last Friday night, has died in the hospital. The doctor having certified that death was due to natural causes, no inquest is to be held. , KICKED BY A HORSE. Woodville, Thursday. Last night the eighteen-months-ohl boy of Charles Lvnch. on the MJisterton road, was kicked by a horse. The little fellow lingered on until six this morning, when he died.
