THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES. CHANGE NIGIIT. The usual change of programme will lie screened at the Theatre Royal tonight. Chief among them is the third series of that most sensational picture "Dick Turpin." It will he remembered that the two former series were well received by picture lovers, and this promises to be even better. A thrilling picture drama, acted -by the leading Kalem artists, entitled "Grit of the Girl Telegraphist," is also worth seeing. Others include "Puppet's Hour" (Lubin drama),. Pathe Gazette, "Broncho Billy's Last, Hold Up" and a full selection of scenic and comic pictures. EMPIRE THEATRE. A full house greeted last night's change of programme at the Empire Theatre. A diversified series of films was screened and the dramatic subjects were again a feature. "A Moonshiner's Heart" (an Essanav feature) was a typical Western drama with a pleasing plot, told in the rough and ready style characteristic of the West. The Kalem Company puts the hall-mark on every subject it turns its hand to, Instance, "The Apache Renegade," which wag an Indian subject of the first water, the production of which entailed the active participation of hundreds of men and hundreds of horses. In one particularly fine scene, scores of settlers with innumerable waggojis were depicted on trek across the American prairies. "His Fate's Rehearsal." was a drama of a more subtle nature, based on a very cleverlv-con-ceived theme and interpreted by 'eminent players. In "Forgiven In Death" (an Essanay drama), the depth of buman feeling and sentiment was reached to fhe accompaniment of some superb acting. Interest was lent to it by its wellpointed moral. The scenic side was the strongest it has been for some considerable time past. It comprised a magnificent range of subjects in the shape "'Tl'p Marshes of Oristana" (Sardina). A Yisit to Danzig" (Germany). end •I he Defence of the Dardanelles." An excellent picture was also shown, descriptive of the cork industry in Tosse (Lnniles) France, and Pnthe's current number of the "Gazette" also combined instruction with pleasure. A trio of good comics were shown, including "A Mixed Affair." °
