THE BETTIXG EVIL. Received 0. 12.15 a.m. London, February 5. In the, House of Lords the Betting 1 Inducements Bill, preventing the publication of tipsters' advertisements, passed the committee stage. The Bishop of Hereford's amendment was rejected, extending the penalties to anyone writing or printing any betting coupon or list of odds. It is stated that 325 large employers in Lancashire and Cheshire favored the amendment, betting on football interfering with the work.
