AN ECHO OF A CRIME.
SURREY HILLS ROBBERY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 4, 9.50 p.m. Sydney, February 4. Two men with hand-bags accosted a resident at Monavale. One hurriedly extracted a Bank of New South Wales pound note from the bag, and earnestly requested change, saying that he was willing to accept 18s or 16s. The offer was declined. It is evident that the bag was chockfull of notes. It is believed that the incident has some bearing on the Surrey Hills robbery.
