HP HE Council of the Borough of New Plymouth HEREBY GIVES PUBLIC NOTICE that it proposes to.borrow, by way of special loan, the sum of £55,000. (a) The particular purpose for which the loan is required is the construction of a tramway on the overhead trolley electric tramway system from the Waiwakaiho Bridge, Fitzroy, to the root of the ■ Breakwater, via Devon, Egmont and St. Aubyn streets, with a branch along Devon street, from Egmont street to Morley street.
(b) The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purpose is £55,000, at a rate not exceeding 5 per cent., with a Sinking Fund of y> per cent, additional. (c) The proposed security is a Mortgage of the undertaking and a special rate of lOd in the £ on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough; and it js proposed to repay the money in 20 years from the Ist day of April, 1913, by means of the sinking fund and otherwise. (d) It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest for the first year. A poll of the ratepayers will be taken upon the above proposal on WEDNESDAY, the sth diiv of March, 1013.
