STREETS IMPROVEMENT AXD WATER-WORKS EXTEXSIOX SPECIAL LOAN OF £42.000. rpHE Council of the Borough of New Plymouth hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow, by way of special loan, the sum of £4:2,000. The particular purposes for which' the loan is required are:—

(a) £II,BOO to provide additions to, extensions and improvements to water-works (within or without the Borough) to acquire in connection therewith lands, easements, lights and appurtenanaces and machinery; and, for any other purposes incidental or in relation thereto respectively. (b) £30,200 to form and improve generally the streets and footways, to purchase necessary -machinery and plant, and construct new bridges and approaches thereto. (c) The' sum proposed to be borrowed for such purposes is £12.000, at a rate not exceeding 5 per cent. , with a sinking fund of ] / ; per cent, additional. (d) The proposed security is a special rate of 7M;din the £ on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough, and itis proposed to repay the money in twenty years from the Ist day of Ajril. lDl.'i. by means of the sinking fund and otherwise.
