At the conference of the Political Labor League Mr. McGowen was invited to explain why the Government passed an Act assisting the Broken Hill Proprietary to establish iron and steel works at Newcastle. THE GOTHIC AT FREMANTLE. Fremantle, January 29. The Gothic has arrived from London with 1400 immigrants. There was an > outbreak of measles on the voyage, and five children died. AN HOTEL BURNED.
