KDUCATIOX BOARD AWARDS. To Taranaki Education Board has iiiai! ■ known its awards in connection will tlifi Senior Board and the Junior Xaional and Board Scholarships for P.! 12-13. They will b? made subject to t'i- usual regulations being complied villi, in regard to the Junior National Scholarships it is necessary to explain that if three or more Junior Scholarships are offered annually in an education district, then at least one scholarship shall be awarded to one of the candidates from schools having more than a.5 but no more than 200 in yearly average attendance, if there is a qualified candidate from such schools. This explains why certain competitors with higher marks have been passed over in favor of certain others with a lower pass. With regard to the Board Scholarships, it is provided that at least onehalf of the scholarships given shall lie awarded to competitors who have regularly attended for at least one year preceding December a school with an average attendance not exceeding eighty, | provided that a sufficient number of ! these oondidates is found to be duly {qualified.
