THE MOVF.MEN'T IX XEW ZEALAND. / Wellington, Friday. Delegates representing various Dominion branches of the Overseas Club met in conference at the Town Hall to-day. The Mayor welcomed the delegates, and gave an interesting patriotic addr'.ss. It was decided that a Dominion Council be elected as follows: —Patron, Lord Liverpool; patroness, Lady Liverpool; president, Mr. D. McLaren; vice-presi-dents. Mr. A. M. Myers, M.P., of Auckland (North Island), and Mr. S. A. Holland, of Christchurch (South Island): delegates, Messrs A. M. Myers and If. 11. Hume (Auckland). A. F. Manning (Hamilton). Dr. Warren (Marton),' W. A. Veitch, M.l>. (Wanganui), S. A. Mail(Hunterville). E. S. Wood (Palmereton North), L. (iorton (Feilding). .1. €ros:< (Masterton). Captain J. Kirk (Gisborne). H. Si von Haast and Captain Barclay (Wellington). Field (Nelson), Ilosswejl (Westport). Rev. T. A. Bernstein and (',. fluine. (Christchurch). Dr. MacAdam (Oamaru), J. F. M. Frazer, K. C and K. Ford (Duiiedin) and J. E. Watson (Invereargill). Mr. -I. K. Macfic (Dunedin) was elected secretary and Mr. R. Laidiaw (Auckland) treasurer.
It was decided Hint the next conference meet on May 24, 1914. It was decided to send to branches the; following list of subjects for their report;— How best to celebrate Empire and Trafalgar Days, especially as regards the children; collection of clothing, etc.. for the poor of London; the question of co-operating with kindred societies; the publication of a pamphlet on New Zealand.
The question of maintaining rooms in London was considered and the suggestion was favorably received. Empire Day was decided upon as the <lav principally to be celebrated bv the eliib.
