AMERICAN AGREEMENT. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Received 23, 10.5 p.m. "Washington, January 23. Mr. \V. C. .Nickel, vice-president of the Hamburg-Amerika Company, has admitted that a shipping combine is being formed. The Clearing House Committee of the Transatlantic lines has agreed not to compete with European ports. The rates from America will be adjusted on a common level, according to the agreement prevailing between the companies.
