Jennings, the cricketer, who was a passenger of the Orvieto, questioned regarding Mayne's criticisms of English umpiring, had no comments to make. He added that sometimes far too much was said about such matters. It was far better to remain silent.
SOUTH MELBOURNE v. WELLINGTON WEDNESDAY REPRESENTATIVES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. South Melbourne commenced the final match of their tour to-day, meeting the Wellington Wednesday representatives. Rain interfered with the play twice during the afternoon, an hour's adjournment being taken on one occasion. At 4.45 it was decided to abandon play for the day, the score standing at 01 for four wickets (Wilson 19, McGill 23). At 4.30 it was decided to abandon play for the day. The score then stood. Wellington four for !)1 (Wilson 1!), Blamires not out 30. McGill 23). The match will be resumed to-morrow.
The following will represent the Urenui Cricket Club against Inglewood A team to-morrow:—Wilson (2), Foreman (3), Sarten, Bhmdell. \Ym. Fulle, Lye, Wilkinson and Cunningham.
