MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. The Anglican General Synod resume.! this afternoon. Mr. M. Jameson. Wellington, was appointed lay representative tor the Melanesian Committee. TilEducational Institutions Committee recommended that an application be made to the Supreme Court for power to sell the site of !St. John's (,'rammar School. The committee al*o endorsed, and strongly recommended, a proposal to complete the .buildings of St. John's College owing to the present inability to meet the demand for further accommodation for students. The committee further recommend that thi; various bodies controlling the several schools which deal with the 1 education of natives should hold a conference for the purpose of bringing about i a better co-ordination of the system at ( present existing in the school's. The committee noted with pleasure the intention of the trustees of Te Ante College to further develon the agricultural side of training given at the. College. The committee urged the great need for Church of England hoarding schools for boys and girls at moderate fees through-, out the province. ° )
On the motion of the' Bishop of Nelson a resolution expressing sympathy with the Church in Wales, was' carried and ordered to be sent to the Archbishop of Canterbury. A long debate ensued on the Bible-n schools question, the support of the League being reaffirmed.
