FINANCIAL STRINGENCY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 22, 1.5 a.m. Pekin, January 21. The Six Powers Group has informed China that they are unable to furnish advances at present, owing to the financial stringency in Europe. The Minister of Finance replied that funds were necessary early, and if the Six Powers were unable to supply them he would have to consider other offers.
