He does not doubt that under his auspices the bonds between the two countries will he still closer knit. King Alfonso and others sent friendly messages. 51. Briand forms a Cabinet, inviting the majority of M. Poincare's Ministers to join. The news of M. Poincare's election has been excellently received throughout Europe. The general opinion is that there is no doubt he will play a more active role than his predecessors | in the interests of France and the Triple Entente.
