WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Strong, northerly and westerly winds have continued, especially in and southward of Coofc Strait, with rain on the west coast and southern districts, and much mist and fog in parts, but sultry weather conditions have prevailed in Canterbury and Hawke's Bay. The barometer has been unsteady, but has fallen everywhere. /Forecast: Present indications are for strong, westerly winds, veering to southerly -everywhere in about twenty-four hours, the barometer falling in the meantime tout then- rising in the' south. Squally and changeable weather may be expected, hazy and cloudy conditions increasing and rain probably following generally.
