EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly of the Egniont County Council was lie .1 at the Council's office, Opunake on Friday, when there were present: Crs. Dudley (chairman), Davy, Campbell, Hi ret, Farquhar. Burgess. Harvey and Willeox. i FOREMEN'S REPORTS.

I Foreman F. Newport (Rahotu, Northern), reported that all contracts in the riding were making good progress. He hoped to bo finished with the crusher in about three weeks. He recommended a payment in full to (.*. Yickery on 900 yards boulder stone, crushed and delivered, and also a progress payment o» 700 yards pit metal. He had let a contract for blinding to CI. Vickery, on which he recommended full payment, as was also the case with C. W/Corbett's blinding contract. All the boulder stone had been crushed at Waiweranui instead of at Warea, and he hoped the Council would agree to this. One of the trayclJiug wheels of the crusher had ibrokon. and would delay work for a couple of days, while being repaired. Crs. Willcox and Harvey had instructed Mr. Colmer to secure a pair of block wheels, as the present wheels would always he liable to give trouble. The metal contractor lmd repaired the Cape Road from the pit. to the satisfaction of the Road Hoard foreman and himself. He also explained at length his reasons for letting a blinding contract without consulting the Council, pointing out that it was essential to get the metal covered to enable the heavy traffic to go over it. I instead of scattering it all over the road. i

Foreman T. Humphries (Rahotu Southern) had been engaged in repairing the Eltham Road, and also raking in loose metal between Te Namu and Oaonui rivers. Necessary repairs had been done in the Opunake riding. He recommended a progress payment'l6''J. : Munro on 350 yards of pit metal delivered... ■ :■••■■
