On the same day at Awatuna East I held a clearing sale on account of Mr. and Mrs. R. Tobin. There was a splendid attendance of the public with a brisk demand throughout for the dairy herd, which sold as follows:—Young dairy cows £5 5s to £S 10s, aged £4 to £4 * 10s, bull £5 15s, forward empty cows £4 15s, 18-months empty heifers £4 ss, calves 19s to £1 os, sows £2 to £2 7s Gd, Awatuna factory shares 13s, s.f. plough £5. WAIKANAE. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:— At Waikanae we submitted a large entry of .sheep and a fair entry of cattle to a good attendance of buyers. All classes of sheep met with a good demand and only two pens went out unsold. The cattle mostly all changed hands at late rates. Quotations: Woolly lambs/7 s 3d to Bs, shorn lambs (small) 5s Gd, 2-tooth wethers 14s, fat and forward wethers las 7d to 15s lOd, store ewes Bs, fat cows £7 ss, 2-year steers £4 IGs, 18months Holstein-Jersey heifers (in calf) £4 19s to £6 2s 6d, weaner steers £2, yearling steers £2 13s 6d.
