W001.—5008 bales of Australian 1821 of New Zealand and 180 of South African were oll'ered at the sales. There was a fairly representative selection and a large attendance from all quarters. There was splendid competition for merinos. Fine crrfssbreds were slightly in. sellers favour. Low crossbreds barely maintained their position. Shabbier and coarse crossbreds were five per centum below the December famine prices. Copper is irregular owing to bear sales, and is quoted at £7O 15s to £7l; electrolytic, £7! l.
