It is singular liow paragraphs are sometimes produced in one. newspaper after another containing an obvious error. The appended item has appeared in almost every newspaper in the Dominion, containing, as it does, a very apparent blunder:—"Reckoning butter at, 1 10s per cwt. and cheese at 00s per cwt,, 24.502 packages of the former, valued at £157,545. and 10.377 packages of cheese, valued at £38,913, were shipped from the New Plymouth breakwater during December. The figures for the corresponding month of 11(11 (at 105s and Ms) were: Butler, 2370 packages, £02.307; cheese. 751)3 packages. C2K.473." The figures 2370 in the last set ~f figured should be 23.730.
