THURSDAY'S BANNER MATCHES. , Thursday's fixtures for' the Banner competition comprise: Sew Plymouth v. Inglewood, at Inglewood; Stratford v. West End, at Stratford; Fitzroy v. Waitara, at Fitzroy. The New Plymouth rinks will consist of:. Winfield, Plumtree, S. Paul, A. K. Smart (s); Binnie, Fookes, Luscomhe. H. Smart (s); Waugh, Jenkinson, Firth. S. Rnndle (s); Fraser, Hooper, Burgess. Coldwater (s): Phillips, C. Rnndle, Medley. Hall (s); Marks, Blundell, Ewing, Penn (s). The West End team will comprise: F. J. Hill, Frank Newell, Wood, Fred' Newell (s); Lobb, Hoskin. Hammond, C. X. Johnson (s); Francis, J. Johnson, Lye,.Beal (s); Jones, Reston. Bullot, Curtis (a).
The Fitzroy team will be as follows: Bartlctt. Callaghan, Allen, Lenland (s); Morey. Church, Dingk', Jackson (s); Oxenham, Bellringer. Chivers, Abbott (s); Cook. Avery. Bennett, Rennell (s); Potc, McNeill, C'rawshaw, Smith (s); llartnell, Price. Mooreshead. llealy (s).
A full attendance of the committee to manage the Taranaki District Tournament was held last night Mr. Ab. Goldwater presiding. Prizes were agreed upon, and a special committee was appointed to procure them. The, prizes will be presented on the Friday afternoon. A sub-enmmittce. consisting of Messrs. Johnson, Rennell and Smart, was appointed to deal with drawing for places, greens and rinks; also to arrange printing and advertising. It was decided to hold the annual meeting of the Association on Wednesday, January 29, and a smoke concert on Thursday evening. A special committee was appointed to arrange for entertaining the visitors. It was resolved that the rinks be divided into four sections of nine each, and that the matches be played on the New Plymouth and Fitzroy greens. Mr. Humphries was appointed umpire on the New | Plymouth green and Mr. Wood at Fitzroy. I'hty is to start at 0.30 a.m. The finals and M'mi-finals are to be played on the \ T ew Plymouth green. Messrs. Jlealy. Johnson and Smart were appointed an executive committee. It was decided that the general committee should meet again on Friday, January 24.
_ Thanks to the energies of Mr. A. K. Smart, tin: touring team of Timaru and Oaniaru howlers have now definitely decided to include New Plymouth in 'their itinerary. Five rinks wi'll arrive in .New Plymouth on Saturday night, January 2."). and on the Monday they will pla'v a match on the town green. On the Sunday they will in all probability be taken on a trip to the Mountain. '
