A violent <;ale and heavy snow in (lie North of England interrupted (he telegraphs and railways. There are snowdrifts many feet deep. A blizzard in the South of Scotland was the worst for years. Work has been suspended in the shipyards. A Dutch schooner was wrecked at Carnoustie, and the crew of six .uradually swept away. The captain lashed himself to the rijrjrinjr. and was rescued after twelve hours. Steamers were wrecked at Yarmouth and Hlyth. but the crews were rescued, after terrible experiences. Many small craft are ashore at Home, and the loss of life is serious. There are Hoods in Ola morgan and South Tipperary. Forty acres "of bog near Castlcrea slipped and threaten a hamlet. There was a hurricane in South Ireland, and several houses were blown down at Queenstown. A TRAIN SNOWED IP. VILLAGES ISOLATED. Received M. 12.25 a.m. London, January 13. The London express from Whitehaven ran into a lm«e drift near Rootle, and was snowed up all nitrht. The snowfall in the Peak district, is unparalleled. Manx' villages have been cut off.
