j SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Government Meteorologist issued the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Strong west and south-west winds have prevailed. .■with showery and changeable weather on fche west coast and in the southern districts of the South Island, and fair to cloudy weather elsewhere. The baromejter has fallen in the south to-day. Forecast: Present indications are for westerly and northerly winds, strong to a gale. warm and sultry weather on the eastern coasts of both" islands, but increasing cloudiness generally, with rain following for a storm area which appears to be approaching from the westward. The barometer is likely to fall fast every where soon.
