A meeting convened by seven ratepayers to discuss the advisability of proceeding with the installation of the tram system almost unanimously deeldedTo "adliere'~to~~the scheme. "The proceedings were very lively at times, and advocates of motor-'buses found difficulty in making themselves heard. No sound argument was advanced. wny the original scheme should be departed from, but, on the contrary, a speaker pointed out that nearly all the tram material was now on the ground. A- — motion in favor of asking the Council to take another po'J was rejected, and an amendment carried .by a hnge majority urging the Council to prosecute the work vigorously.
