WORK AND WAGES.
UNDERTAKERS' PRIVILEGES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Edward Morris, undertaker, was charged to-day with failing to close his shop on a statutory half-holiday. His counsel urged that an undertaker's business did not come within the same lines as. other trading enterprises, and people died independently of all human laws and regulations. "It is absurd, to say that Mr. Morris is to close his shop on Wednesday afternoon to the danger of the public* health and convenience," said the Magistrate. Mr. Riddell, and lie dismissed the case.
