Pumping operations have been resumed on the Star of Canada, stranded at Gisborne, by Messrs Langlands and Co., and the engine-room is dry again. This is 'being done in order that some more of the ship's pumping gear can be got up deck to be utilised there, and also to get out the balance of the dynamo. Six of the ten ironbark poles that are to act as anchors when the attempt to naul the vesse'i off is made have been driven into the papa rock a short distance off the stern of the ship.
