CYCLING AND ATHLETIC UNION.' THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. , : Blenheim, Last Night. The New Zealand Cycling and Athletic Union Conference was resumed t»-lay. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. John Kennedy (Geraldine); vice-presidente, Messrs. D. F. Mackay (Dunedin), J. Clarke (New Plymouth), and W. Clarrender (Hastings); committee, Messrs. A. Hansen (Taranaki), I. Gilfidder (Auckland), A. J. Fisher (Blenheim), J. F. Wilson (West Coast), J. Collingwood (Feilding). The executive conferred with the representatives of the Hibernian Sports Society with a view to the settlement of the Campion incident, the outcome *E which was the suspension of the Society by the Union. Tt was eventually decided to divide the prize money in dispute rabout £00) equally among Darby, Campion and Leahy, the first three in the race, the other £lO being split up among the next three men. , The suspension of the Hibernian Society was removed.

Mr. Hansen (Taranaki) proposed a new rule that no secretary or other official shall compete in any event except a committee race. This was carried. A motion to meet bi-annually instead of annually was lost. An Otago delegate proposed that an entry by wire be binding on competitors ami this was carried. It was decided on Mr. Campbell's (Otago) motion that all secretarys be insured and find a bond . Auckland wag selected for the next Conference. A number of minor alterations were made in the rules. A remit from North Canterbury to alter the southern boundary line to take in all districts north of Ashburton and reduce the South Canterbury boundary accordingly was strongly resented by South Canterbury, and was defeated. The Wellington centre was'granted £6 19s for reorganising purposes. A number of amendments were made to the rules providing for the more efficient working of the Union and the Centres' affairs, some of which are designed to strengthen the hands of the authorities in dealing with lax methods of administration. It was resolved-that the rules as passed be printed and come into force on August Ist. In respect to finances it was stated that the credit amounted to £47, and the liabilities to £1 10s.
