ENTERTAINMENTS.

EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. The management are arranging a treat for patrons at this popular house of entertainment this evening. A fine selection of pictures are being shown, accompanied by a brilliant musical programme by the combined Royal and Empire orchestras, assisted by the solo clarionetist Mr. Syd. Cottier. The overture will commence at 7.55, the selected item being Lavalee's celebrated overture "The Bridal Rose." The interval entracte is the cornet solo, Sullivan's "Lost Chord," which will be played by special request. The combined orchestras are under the direction of Arthur V. Carbines, and music lovers can rest assured of a moist enjoyable evening at the Empire tonight. THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES. As the Theatre is otherwise engaged thero will be no pictures shown to-night or to-morrow night. On Monday the pictures will again occupy the Theatre, when a complete new programme will be shown.

; THE GAY FOLLIES. We again remind our readers that the "Gay Follies" and Costume Comedy Company will commence a two-nights' season in the Theatre Royal this evening, when a crowded house is anticipated. There will be a complete change of programme to-morrow evening. Popular prices are announced, and the box plan is at Collier's. No extra charge, is made for booking. The company comprise Mr. Percy Clifton, the great London comedian, late of J. C. Williamson's , Opera Company, Mr. Percy Dalton, the world's champion eccentric dancer and ragtime speciaist, Miss Cissy O'Keefe, the beautiful contralto, Miss Iris Edgar and Mr. Kennedy Black, comedy sketch artists and vocalists, the Sisters Lussannes, seri-comics and dancers, Mr. Clifford O.'Keefe, a famous basso, Miss Lily Moore, a charming soubrette, Mr. H. Steyne, the great comique, and Mr G. Branson, an eminent baritone. Mr. W. Butler will conduct the orchestra.
