Before the \oil!i Lyell Commission the minutes of the Lyell branch of the Federal Mining Engineers' Association were produced and showed that the secretary on June 10 wrote to the .Mines Department that the means of escape at the North Lyell mine were insufficient.
Two bodies have been recovered, makin« ten out of forty-two victims. It is expected that others will be recovered in a few days.
