NARROW ESCAPE.
AT TE HENUI. • Two boys, visitors to the town, got .'■ into difficulties yesterday mornings whilst bathing at the East End qutfe' . close to the Te Henui river. They i.4t&, however, able to extricate themselves after some trouble, but one was temporarily overcome uy the heat and a quantity of salt water which he had swallowed. Dr. Suttee, who-was bathing in the vieinity, attended to the lad, who was taken to his home, and is now doing all right. The other boy was bathing again-in the afternoon. Those who are familiar with the locality strongly advise that boys should not bathe near the mouth of the river, where there is at times a backwash. There is plenty of good bathing available for children in the river itself, or in the sea right opposite the bathing sheds.
