Wellington, Lost Nifhi The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — Summary.—The barometer is still low in the south, and rain has fallen on both coasts southward of Westport and Lytielton, 4ut fair weather has prevailed elsewhere. Temperatures have risen today, and moderate strong westerly winds have predominated.

Forecast. —Present indications are for moderate to strong westerly winds, with fair to cloudy weather, generally unsettled and showery at times on the We&t Coast and southern districts of the South Island. The barometer is unsteady, but shows little movement at present. ■ ijf-4
