A YACHT DISMASTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. The yacht lorangi, bound from Port Chalmers to Auckland, has been towed in dismasted. The cause was defective rigging. The accident happened off Kaikoura. The crew were unhurt. Mr. T. M. Alexander, master and owner, is in command. RIVAL PROPHETS. Auckland, Tuesday. Mr. Wragge thinks Dr. Archibald, the English meteorologist, altogether wrong in forecasting a drought period in Australia. He thinks that under the average rainfalls will persist until 1010, but the improvement will begin before the end of that period. Hence till 1020 Australia will have an abundant rainfall. This applies also to New Zealand, but to a less degree.
