BERNARD'S PICTURES Tito new change programme which foiumences its three-nights' run to-night, features "-Tim Bludso," the hero of Hie Prairie Belle. We all know the poem of Jim Bludso's love for his engine in the old Mississippi paddle-boat and his boast t'hat lie would never let another boat pass liim. and that, in the event of accident, he would jamb her nose into the bank and stick to the bridge till every soul got ashore. The accident happened, and he did it. The theme is good, and the picture equally so. The story of "In the North Woods" runs as follows: A trapper, confident of the safety of his wife and child in the boundless woous while he was away on his trip to the trading post, a day's journey, left home to dispose of the pelts he had secured. lie had just gone when an adventurous Frenchman and a guide appeared on the scene, hunting. The Frenchman noted where the woman hid her bag of savings, ami determined to become possessed of it. But. he found the woman was made of sterner stuff than he expected, and he not only failed but suffered for his villainy. This story is splendidly told. There are several other enually interesting films.
