Canterbury (not quoted). North Island 4%d. Lamb. —The market is firm, with good demand for prime quality. Canterbury 5%d (nominal).

Beef.—The market is quiet, but holders arc firm. Supplies of American chilled are large. New Zealand hinds 3%d, fores 3%d. Butter.—The market is very quiet, and buyers cautious. The market is temporarily depressed on account of the unusually mild weather. Average prices: New Zealand choicest 110s, Australian 113s, Argentine Ills, Danish 130s, Siberian Ills.

Cheese.—The market is quiet and small business doing. New Zealand white 61s, coloured G2s.

Hemp.~The market is very quiet and nothing is doing. Spot New Zealand good fair grade £33j fair grade £3l, fair current Manila £33 10s. JanuaryMarch New Zealand good fair £33 10s, fair grade £3l 10s, fair current Manila £35. Quotations are nominal. The output from Manila for the week was 17,'000 bales.

Wool. —The market is strong for all grades. Wheat. —The market is dull, and very littte business doing. New Zealand long-berried ex granary, per quarter of 496 lb., 375, short-berried 365.

Oats. Tim market is quiet, but moderate business is doing. There is a large supply. New Zealand oats, short sparrowbills, ex granary, per quarter of 384 lb., 24s fid, Danish, per quarter of 320 11).,'22s Od. Beans.—The market is quiet, but holders are firm. Supplies are decreasing. New Zealand beans f.a.q. (new crop), per 504 lb., 30s Gd. Poas. —The market is quiet and the demand has considerably fallen off. New Zealand peas (partridge), per 504 lb., 38s 6d.

WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Wellington, Monday. The offering of wool at the local sales on Wednesday nexj is generally believed to be a record for Wellington, namely 25,005 bales. ■ ( »
