ADVERTISING NEW PLYMOUTH.

EXPANSION AND TOURIST LEAGUE. ' A meeting of tire New Plymouth Ex- ; pansion and Tourist League was held in ' the new offices, at Messrs. Webster and-. M'Kellar's buildings, last evening, Dr, Leatham presiding, and there being .present: Messrs. G. Tabor, W. Bewiey, E. Whittle,) W. Weston, W. A. Collis, T. C. List, K. Webster. J. Cruickshanks and S. W. Shaw. The scale of charges agreed upon by the local and Inglewood stable and motor proprietors' for the mountain service was considered, and a committeo was set up to interview the New Plymouth proprietors again with a view to the modification of their charges and to arrange for a regular week-end vehicular service between the town and the mountain.

The retiring secretary (Mr, A. Snowball) was granted a bonus of £o. A scheme for the systematic circulation of the illustrated folders in New Zealand and Australia was decided upon. A committee was appointed to arrange for placing in the monntaiA hous-s a framed set of views of the scenic spots of the district, and also to submit an estimate of the cost of similar views for hanging in hotels, etc., in different parts of the Dominion.

Particulars of the scenic spots, routes, etc., are to be printed, and placed in the. local hotels and other public places. It was mentioned that the .Empire Film Company proposed taking a film of the scenery of Mt. Messenger, the llokau River, the mountain, etc., and placing it throughout New Zealand, as well as in Australia and Europe, without any subsidy from the League. It was suggested that the League would add to the interest of the films-'and promote the movement it had initiated by supplying copies of its illustrated folders for distribution amongst the patrons of the theatres at which the films would be shown. The intimation was cordially received, and the matter will be given further consideration when definite details are placed before the League. .
