DEATH OF MICHAEL MALONE.
THE CORONER'S. COMMENTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, 'Saturday. At the inquest concerning the death of Michael Malone in the Terrace prison the Coroner said there was no evidence that the police did otherwise than treat the man properly from the time of his arrest till his removal to the gaol. The prison officials did the same. The verdict waa that death was due to hemorrhage due to fracture of the skull, 'and that there was not sufficient evidence to show how the injury was received. The Coroner added that delirium tremens patients like deceased, apart from having injuries, should receive proper medical and nursing attention. No doubt the hospital authorities had good reason for refusing such cases, hut there should be some place at the hospital or the gaol where such patients could receive proper treatment. ,
