ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
BRIDGE CARPENTER KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Friday. A fatality took place yesterday at the Golden Bar claim, Waimarina, Patrick MeMannon being killed. He was working on the tramway bridge, putting in a stringer, when' it slipped off the cap and struck deceased on the head and shoulder, lie died three minutes afterwards, lie was a single man and came from Chicago a fortnight ago.
WAIROA ACCIDENTS. Wairoa, Friday. A man named Clough, who was injured at the harbor works quarry, died as the result of his injuries. He was a single man, aged 35 years, a native of Victoria. Ben Glass, an old resident, was found dead in bed at a boardinghouee, with a rope round his neck with a stick for tightening it. A post mortem is being held. A motor, containing Mr. Morris, his wife and daughter, skidded and went over a bank 30 feet high. Miss Morris was seriously injured. Details are meagre.
