VITAL STATISTICS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last sight. The vital statistics for December are as follows, the figures for the corresponding month of last year belhjg given in parenthesis: Births 128 (137)/deaths G5 (52), marriages 91 (108). The figures for the year are:—Births.„lßos (163), deaths 869 (81G), (790). The births registered this year are the highest since 1882, when the record'of 1871 was recorded. '
PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE-CLASS CONFERENCE. < Tiniiaru, Tuesday. . The Presbyterian Bible-class Conference now being he'kl at Temuka is. proving very successful, about 500 delegates from all parts being present, wifji Rev. G. H. Balfour president and Rcv.'A. W. Kinmont and the wife of Rev. J. Mackenzie as supervisors of men's and women's camps. The women are camped in the public school and the men in Ri largo grain shed.
