WOMAN'S WORLD
(Conducted by "Eileen.") NEW PLYMOUTH SOCIAL NEWS. Races.—The first day of the Taran.iki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting was favored with perfect weatli, so all were out to enjoy themselves. The flocking was on the whole good. The general effect when the mass of people were moving about in the bright sunshine was beautiful. White predominated, then came blues, pinks and heliotropes. There were no awful "shrieks," but there were several which produced ■smiles. The band played, but the items now and again were somewhat doleful, so someone ventured the opinion that probably if they played all bright and inspiring music the people would get excited and "plunge." What tremendous possibilities open out at this suggestion, because music has led many people to do many rash but fine things. In the charming, new and up-to-date tea kiosk was the best chance of seeding my friends and what they had on.
